Inclement Weather & Other Captain Cancellations
Safety is our number one priority and we will never risk someone’s life or well being to go fishing. Weather cancellations are strictly at the captain’s discretion. If we need to cancel your trip due to weather conditions, we will reschedule your trip to a different date that works best for you. If we are unable to reschedule your trip, a full refund will be issued.
If the captain needs to cancel your trip for reasons other than weather, such as mechanical issues, illness, family emergency, etc. we can either reschedule your trip for a later date or you can receive a full refund. -
You betcha! Some of our best fishing has been in the rain. We fish in all weather as long as it’s safe. Typically unsafe conditions would be things like high seas and lightning.
Weather cancellations are at the captain’s discretion. See our cancellation policy above for more info.

While rare, we can’t control mother nature, so it is possible to not catch any fish. That said, with a 95% catch rate you’re very likely to hook up on fish.

US Coast Guard Licensed Captain - Your captain will always hold a current and valid US Coast Guard license. All captains and crew are trained in First Aid/CPR/AED and participate in a randomized drug testing.
Life Jackets - Our boat is equipped with life jackets for every passenger on board in the event of an emergency. Children age 6 and under are required to wear a life jacket at all times while underway. While we carry child size life jackets on board, it’s recommended that they bring their own for a more comfortable and safe fit. You’re also welcome to bring your own life jacket. All personal life jackets must be Coast Guard approved (Type I or Type II).
Michigan DNR Inspected & Certified Vessel - Our vessel has been inspected and certified by the Michigan DNR to run fishing charters.
Licensed and Insured local business - We are a registered local business and hold all required licensing to run fishing charters in Michigan. Additionally, our business and vessel are properly insured.

REQUIRED Michigan Fishing License (each guest age 17+) - must be purchased before leaving the dock if you plan on fishing.
Kids Life Jacket - children ages 6 and under are required to wear a life jacket at all times while underway. We recommend bringing your child’s own life jacket to ensure a proper fit for comfort and safety. Please be sure it is a Coast Guard approved Type I or Type II life jacket.
Sun protection - glasses, hats, sunscreen, sun shirts, etc.
Weather appropriate clothing - layers are recommended. Keep in mind it is typically colder on the water than on land and we do fish in the rain!
Snacks/Drinks + Cooler - we recommend ice for your fish, and a small/medium sized cooler as space can be limited.

Typically trips start around 6am, Noon, and 5pm but your captain will decide the best time to meet based on the season, fish you’re targeting, and the location.

We trailer our boat, so we go where the fish are! Our home waters are the Grand Traverse Bays so that’s where the majority of our trips are located, but we will run in nearby inland lakes and other Great Lakes waters when available. Your captain will determine the best meeting location based on the season, fish we’re targeting, and weather conditions.
You can learn more about the fishing on our home page.
